Twins Laughing Hysterically

Warning: giggling can be highly contagious. Watch in moderation. Seek medical advice before watching if you suffer from being chronically boring, miserable or grumpy.

Violet and Ivy often have these fits of uncontrollable - and seemingly unprovoked - laughter; is it a phenomenon peculiar to identical twins? We don't often catch it on filum so this is quite a treat! Enjoy :-)

Coffee for Adrien

A brew for my very good friend Adrien Wasila, the legendary Luxumbourgish, book-addicted, multilinguistic Egyptologist and honourary Lancastrian. Thanks for the postcard and the Earl Grey flavoured sweets, Adrien!

For fellow Coffeesnobs: I'm brewing here using a Kalita Wave pour-over, a Hario kettle and Columbian Somondoco coffee beans from J. Atkinson's of Lancaster. 28g/400ml; 3min.

Nursery: Day 2

Another successful morning at Nursery. Violet and Ivy didn't want to leave! One of the other little children, who had clearly never experienced twins before, was apparently awe-struck by their identical appearance. As a parent of identical twins, it's so easy to forget that other people think they look the same. To me, they look so different. They have different hair, different heights, weights, gaits, mannerisms, voices, favourite phrases, favourite cutlery, favourite toys, favourite sides of the sofa, favourite parts of an egg (Violet just eats the yolk, Ivy just eats the white). It's only when I look back at old photographs that I have difficulty telling them apart (and in the middle of the night when they wriggle into bed!). What do you think? Are they easy to tell apart?

Nursery

Violet and Ivy had their first morning at nursery today! They enjoyed playing with dollies, prams and a kitchen and they had banana and bread sticks for a snack. The twins haven't said anything about it other than that they want to go again tomorrow :-)
